While a half inch doesn’t sound like a lot, it makes a big difference to these specialty players. In contrast, that extra half inch in the paddle face makes just as big of a difference in consistency for average players. These fully foam paddles are more detrimental than helpful for players under 4.5+. The trampoline effect of full foam will have you hitting balls against the back fence and popping up shots in your soft game. No one likes a banger in low level play. Every point is over in one shot (net, out, opponents errors on a drive that would have been out). You don’t need a hot paddle in low levels. You need consistent drops, resets, dinks.
